The drawing frames model SD14 (chain driven gill) and CD14 (screw driven gill) are both fitted on the same structure designed following two main aims: Sturdiness, in order to avoid vibrations at high speeds, and the tunnel can changer, with the draft and calender group partially overhanging the delivery can, thus reducing the working path of the sliver from the calender to the coyler and allowing a compact machine size.

The can delivery tunnel type is available for a can diameter up to 800 mm. For cans with a larger diameter, a can changer of side translator type is available. the bobbin delivery is available for bobbins with a diameter adjustable up to 500 m.

 

Thanks to a platform that extends along one side of the machine, the hood that opens toward the opposite end and a sliding panel, the access for the operator is free from the creel to the coyler. The working areas are accessible only when the machine is standing. When the covers of the machine are open the machine can be set at work only by means of a special safety knob which allows the manual activation of single "blows".

 

Configuration of the draft head of model SD14

 

The screw driven draft head model SD14 Is made of 82 fallers (40 upper and 42 lower) with 9 mm gauge for short and very fine fibers; The needles on each faller cover a length of 220 mm and the working width of the field is 185 mm. Components subject to strong vibrations and/or hammerings and therefore wear are made out of strong materials covered by titanium nitride. Oiling of the gears driving the screws and the Groove of the screw where the faller supports are driven is executed  automatically. The quantity and timing of the oiling is set on the main panel.

The chain driven draft head model CD14 employs a total of 132 fallers (66 upper fallers and 66 bottom fallers) with gauge 9.52 mm; the needles over each faller cover a length of 270 mm and the working width of the field is 218 mm. Components subject to strong friction, therefore to wera, are made out of strong materials with special treatments. Oiling of the groove for the passage of the faller support is executed automatically. Quantity and timing of oiling is set on the main panel.

 

We can supply feeding creels with only cans, only bobbins or mixed (cans and bobbins). An extra-can device is supplied for machines with chain gills or a mixed creel. The bobbin creel is equipped with two motors, one for the left and one for the reight side. The mixed creel is equipped with 3 motors, one for the can creel and two for the bobbin creel. in case of delivery with multiple slivers, the slivers are kept separate from eachother with slides from the creel to the feed zone. Sliver guides separate and compact the fibers together between the head and the draft zone, between the draft zone and the calanders and between the calanders and the coyler. Cans on delivery are changed automatically, there is space for two empty cans for the change. The sliver is cut automatically during the can changing process, due to the fact that the motors driving the cans work autonomously and later the new sliver is introduced in the new can automatically by compressed air.

Structure of the machine.

The drawing frame for the fourth passage in a preparation line for worsted spinning model MH17E24 is fitted on a structure designed with the following objectives: sturdiness, in order to avoid vibrations at high speed, the tunnel can changer and the draft and calender group overhanging the delivery can, thus reducing the working path of the sliver from the calender to the coyler and allowing a compact machine size.

The sliver is not cut by an extra device, the slivers are threaded into the coylers automatically. The can types available for this machine are 700 mm or800 mm width and 1000 or 1200 height.

When the covers of the machine are open the machine can be set to work only by means of a special safety knob which allows limited "blows".

 

Configuration of the heads for machine model MH17/E
The MH17/E drawing frame is suggested as a fourth passage in preparation to spinning in the worsted field, for yarn counts finer than Nm 48, with any type of fiber (wool, cashmere, silk, etc.). The MH17/E model is equipped with four "elastic" draft heads, each composed by two Sampre soft rubber cots on top and a large bottom apron. Each draft head has been developed to be able to carry a load up to 60 grams. After the twin bottom draft rollers there are special calenders that condense and run the final roving through the coyler below. Ratch settings of the feed rollers and of the draft head are motorized. The path of the draft geometry allows high speeds. Suction in all working areas and intermittent blows of compressed air keep the working path clean and reduce the risk of slivers overlapping.

Drawing frames 2.0 for preparation to spinning fibers in worsted

All machine settings can be changed , with no extra gear required or changing position of belts or pulleys. In order to change the draft, sliver tension or draft gauge, the required data is set on a centralized touch-screen panel. Each group of the machine has its own motor: the creel, the tensioning of the slivers after the reel, the feed rollers, the draft group, the draft rollers, the movement of the head in relation to the draft, the movement of the feed rollers in relation to the head, the calender, the can coiler and the can turner. Each machine is equipped with a quality monitoring of each sliver coming out and detects weight variation, thick places, CV% and CV over 1m, 3m, and  10m, with the possibility to set alarm levels.

The quality monitoring of each sliver (CV% and thick parts) is performed electronically when the sliver moves in a funnel located between the draft roller and the calender. The data is shown in real time on the operating touch-screen panel. At the start of a new lot of material, the spinning manager can try different machine settings and see the results in real time as the sliver is coming out, enabling him to find the best setting. The data of each lot (machine setting, production parameters and quality results) can be stored on the machine panel and downloaded on a USB key or with FTP software through the ethernet gate of the operating panel. Remote assistance is also possible, all Gaudino machines can be connected on the same net. With quality monitoring it is possible to set alarm levels and have the machine stop if the threshold is passed.

The MH17/E elastic drawing frames are equipped with pergola type creels. Two motors driving the creel, located on the creel and the machine body, ensure a perfect setting of the tension of the feeding slivers. The creel of the MH17/E elastic drawing frames come with can feeding of 1000 mm and 1200 mm height.
